Eleven is affectionate and scatterbrained. Taken with her friends, often on the phone, frequently scheming for sleepovers, but then missing her mother.
Eleven had a Harry Potter-themed birthday party at her father's bookstore.
She dressed like Harry (or maybe Ginny), had her friends sit under the Sorting Hat and assigned them Hogwarts' houses. They ate a banquet:
And drank butterbeer:
Eleven wears jeans with holes in both knees and t-shirts with images printed on them, but still likes dresses and skirts with leggings, too. Eleven had her ears pierced last fall and is now very excited to be wearing dangly earrings. Eleven has shoe issues. Eleven wishes her hair was longer.
Eleven reads voraciously, constantly, books are scattered throughout the house and fill her room. The literary clutter displeases her mother, but I suppose it's not really such a bad sort of clutter. She prefers historical fiction, but was also recently caught reading "Chicken Soup for the Girl's Soul." Ahem.
Eleven listens to the same songs over and over on her mp3 player. She likes several songs by Queen, Imagine by John Lennon, Viva La Vida by Coldplay, some Beatles and Paul McCartney songs, and a few pop songs that are unknown to me. She does not like Hannah Montana and seems indifferent to the charms of the Jonas Brothers.
Eleven likes to play board and card games. She is patently uninterested in sports, both playing and viewing, unless snacks are involved. She likes to watch House, 30 Rock, The Office, Project Runway (she loves Christian), and repeated viewings of the Harry Potter movies. She is generally very good to her little sister and plays patiently with her.
Eleven is beautiful. That skin! Those eyes! I happily predict an interesting nose and a head of thick chestnut hair.
Eleven likes to make snacks; brownies, jello and quesadillas are her favorite. She'll also fry eggs for her sister, but won't eat them. Eleven likes to eat pizza, mozzarella sticks, pasta, baguettes, ramen noodles, chicken tikka masala, chicken naan and not much else that doesn't contain sugar. It is difficult to a pack a lunch for picky Eleven. She would prefer not to eat breakfast, but her parents force her to drink a glass of milk and eat a few bites of something before school. Eleven usually stays up too late because her parents are not good at keeping to a schedule.
For spring break, Eleven took the Chinatown bus to New York and went on the mother-invented Project Runway Tour. We went to Mood, the Hershey store in Times Square, and then ate Magnolia cupcakes for dinner in Bryant Park. We also spent two hours in the American Girl store, looking at everything twice and getting a new hairdo for her Molly doll. Eleven was thrilled.
Eleven is lovely and darling and a good companion. Her mother couldn't love her more, even if she wishes that Eleven would occasionally clean her room.
Aw, I love Eleven!
