So, yeah, the kitchen. It's coming along, Rex has been doing a lot of work whenever he has time, which usually means a big burst of work about once a month. We now have the new floor under 80% of the kitchen, yay!
Of the many advantages of having Rex do all the work is that when he does things like removing the cabinet beneath the sink, but instead of leaving us sink-less for months, he built a structure to hold the old sink until we're ready for the new one (which is actually old and may have a crack in the porcelain, which may be a problem). He also taught himself to hook the gas stove up to a longer hose so that it can be moved over six inches. Impressive. Seriously.
The new kitchen, purchased in October and delivered after Thanksgiving, is currently residing in our living room. As is most of the stuff that used to be in the kitchen.
The much hated teal tile has been removed. The children were allowed to draw on it before it came down.
Rex has been installing drywall on top of the old walls and he's almost finished with the large corner cabinet. Which reminded me that I have not yet chosen knobs or handles for the cabinets. I do not feel up to the task of making another decision about this, but I will soldier on.
Not sure I like this choice of handles, from Ikeafans:
This is more what I'm contemplating, largish vertical metal handles-- from Apartment Therapy:
Here's a whole mix of different stuff, from Ikeafans.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for an informative post. I have to bookmark this as I'm doing a kitchen renovation of my own at the moment.
